KUALA LUMPUR: Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Bhd (Exim Bank) today has launched its “Exim Go-Export” financing programme (GEFP 2023) which will provide financing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and corporate clients.

GEFP 2023 comprises three programmes, namely Exim Go-SMExport, Go-Export ACE and Go-Export GreenTech.

The initiative will enable SMEs and corporate clients to invest and grow in the areas of export development, green technology and supply chain ecosystem.

Apart from that, these programmes will enable them to grow their business, as well as obtain funds for cash flow requirements.

Investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said at today’s launch that the fast-changing global landscape requires SMEs to be agile and responsive to key themes such as environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) and the fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0).

“As SMEs form the backbone of our economy, they deserve all possible support to make them future ready,” he said.

“Exim’s financing for export development, green technology and supply chain ecosystem are welcome solutions to SMEs’ most common challenges,” Tengku Zafrul added.

He said that SMEs can secure their growth path and become more resilient in the global supply chain if they are able to address challenges related to funding.

Exim Bank president and CEO Arshad Ismail said that the programme’s aim is to support SMEs and help corporate clients build a successful export business.

“The Exim Go-Export programme is a tailor-made banking solution that prioritises the needs of our customers and ensures our offerings align with their specific exporting business requirements,” Arshad said.

Exim Go-SMExport supports SMEs to expand their capacity in entering the global market. Go-Export ACE helps anchor companies build a resilient ecosystem for their suppliers and vendors.

Both schemes enable vendors from all sectors – particularly electrical and electronics, digital economy, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and chemicals – to get quick access to funds, while anchor companies can enjoy greater flexibility in credit terms.

Exim Go-Export GreenTech is a comprehensive, sustainable-driven financing programme designed to help exporters grow by investing in strategic sectors such as automation, digital technology, green technology, and biotechnology.
