THE Global Entrepreneur One Stop Centre (Glopec) debuted products from Sabah’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China during its promotion mission to the cities of Chengdu in Sichuan province and Lanzhou in Gansu province from April 12-16.

Yayasan Sabah said the trade mission would mark an important milestone for Glopec as part of its vision in realising Sabah SME products entering China market, mainly focusing on Chengdu and Lanzhou.

“The mission is also strategically coordinated to coincide with the 108th China Food and Drinks Fair (CFDF), where Glopec will be one of the exhibitors at the Malaysia Pavilion organised by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) Chengdu.

“The fair is expected to attract more than 3,000 exhibitors and 150,000 buyers gathered to witness and participate in this long-running history platform highlighting its global connectivity in the food and beverage industry,” it said.

Yayasan Sabah said apart from the CFDF, Glopec would also undertake an initiative to pay a courtesy visit and networking session with the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Gansu Sub-Council to explore and expand our business outreach internationally.

“Given these potentials, Glopec focuses on showcasing Sabah SME products in China, expanding its business opportunities, and engaging with local buyers, importers and distributors,” the statement said.

Glopec is a platform established through a strategic partnership between the Yayasan Sabah Group and the Ministry of Economy’s Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) to facilitate Sabah SMEs in growing their business and expanding their network to larger markets, global suppliers, importers and distributors.
