PETALING JAYA: Chief secretary to the government Zuki Ali has congratulated the Pahang government for establishing the first MyMudah unit on the east coast to make it easier to do business in the state.

He said implementing MyMudah had also improved the Kuantan municipal council’s construction procedures and resolved issues on temporary housing of foreign workers involving the Cameron Highlands district council.

Zuki said the MyMudah initiative was introduced to provide greater ease of doing business. It will give the state government an advantage in attracting more investors, he added.

“By facilitating business transactions, local economic growth can be increased and more job opportunities created.

“Initiatives like this can be a catalyst for economic development and the well-being of the people in the state,” Bernama reported him as saying when opening the Pahang-level MyMudah 2023 conference in Kuantan today.

Zuki said various measures are being implemented under the Bitara Madani programme to provide more convenience to the public.

This included reducing congestion at hospitals and at the KLIA, and overhauling dilapidated schools nationwide.

He said such efforts were managed by the special task force on agency reform (STAR). They were geared towards speedy and low-cost implementation but have a high impact on society.

“In this regard, the development of work processes and revision of regulations are done by STAR’s joint coordinator — the Malaysia Productivity Corporation.

“It is crucial to see improvements to speed up, simplify and optimise available resources in the implementation of any programme,” Zuki, who heads STAR, said.
