KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 18): MyDIGITAL Corporation will develop partnership and collaborative initiatives between the public and private sectors to achieve common goals and aspirations under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MDEB).
Chief executive officer Fabian Bigar said to facilitate and debottleneck specific challenges that companies may encounter when adopting digital technology and infrastructure, the MyDIGITAL Catalytic Projects Task Force was formed with the responsibility of establishing the criteria for selecting catalytic projects across industry verticals and technological domains.
“These projects should result in a visible and tangible public impact and also accelerate digital economy growth post-pandemic,” he said at Thursday (Aug 18)’s pre-event press conference for Smart Nation Expo and Forum 2022 here.
He said the MyDIGITAL booth at the Smart Nation 2022 will showcase some ongoing efforts to ensure that government initiatives such as the MyDIGITAL Economic Blueprint and the National 4IR Policy will have real-life applications.
“We are also showcasing our private sector partners in the MyDIGITAL catalytic projects. Facilitating these projects is a strategic national imperative, and our hope is that more Malaysian companies will innovate and adapt to ensure their aspirations continue to succeed, especially by adapting to digitalisation,” he said.
Fabian believes that the expo and forum will be an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect and reach out to global partners and prospects, and also for delegates to get insights into the latest available tech and solutions in the market.
“It is in line with the policy objective of the MDEB to encourage industry players to become creators, users and adopters of innovative business models,” he said.
MDEB was launched in February 2021 as a component to realise the 12th Malaysia Plan, with the objective of transforming Malaysia into a digitally-enabled and technology-driven, high-income nation in three phases by 2030.
Phase One, which is to strengthen the foundation for digital adoption, concludes at the end of 2022.
Over 20,000 delegates and participants are expected at the international in-person event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Themed “Accelerating Digital Transformation”, the three-day event from Sept 27-29 will highlight 10 key zones including smart energy, smart communications, smart manufacturing and IR4.0, smart government, smart energy, smart mobility, smart security, smart building, smart healthcare and smart education.
The expo will also host the Asean Smart Cities Congress 2022, featuring over 50 speakers and panelists from 10 countries, with 500 delegates representing mayors, city officials and planners.
